Aviation

  • 45 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Maraschino liqueur e.g. Luxardo
  • 10 ml Crème de violette
  • 20 ml Lemon juice
  • Garnish Brandied cherry

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.

Origin Story

The Aviation cocktail emerged in the early 20th century, with its first recorded recipe appearing in a cocktail book published in 1916. It is often credited to bartender Hugo Ensslin at the Hotel Wallick in New York.
