Ingredients: 30 ml Aged rum; 30 ml Jamaican rum; 15 ml Orange curaçao; 30 ml Lime juice; 15 ml Orgeat

Served in an old-fashioned glass

30 ml Aged rum
30 ml Jamaican rum
15 ml Orange curaçao
30 ml Lime juice
15 ml Orgeat

Preparation

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.

Mint sprig, lime shell, spent lime

Origin story

The Mai Tai was created in the 1940s in California, attributed to either Trader Vic's or Don the Beachcomber, both of whom claimed to have invented it. This cocktail became synonymous with tiki culture and is celebrated for its tropical flavors.
