Suffering Bastard

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Bourbon
  • 30 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 120 ml Ginger beer

Preparation

Shake spirits, lime and bitters with ice. Strain into a Collins glass over ice and top with ginger beer.

Garnish

Mint sprig, orange slice

Origin story

The Suffering Bastard cocktail was created during World War II, reportedly at the Shepherd's Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. It was designed as a hangover remedy for British soldiers and became popular for its refreshing qualities.
